Welcome to my blog! I'm revealing the cover for my new release, Trusting Trey! If you've read the Sugar Series, set in Duluth, Minnesota, you'll know Trey Helton as Sugar's 'legman'. Trusting Trey is the story of how he and Allison fell in love. You'll meet the pair in the past, present, and future as they tell you their story. I've been working on this novel for almost two years, because I was trying to figure out the best way to tell their story. When it came to me a few months ago, I sat down and wrote the story in a week. I think it's fitting that the first Sugar book was released in October 2011, and now the last book of the Sugar Series (Technically, even though Sugar is only in it for a few moments) is releasing the same time of year, five years later. In that time span, I've walked and rolled on a similar journey as Allison and Trey.
I hope you love discovering how Trey and Allison got together, and what challenges they faced. When most people would break, they only bent and with a little determination, a lot of coffee, and a little sugar, they grew stronger until they stood tall against the wind. I hope you find in this Christmas journey the one thing you are most thankful for in your own life. Everything we are can change in an instant, but the human spirit is resilient and something good always comes from something bad. The book releases November 3, 2016.
So without further adieu, I give you, Trusting Trey!

Trey Helton moved to Duluth to work as a prosthetist for the local hospital. Leaving behind a personal tragedy, he knew Duluth would be the place he could make a life and start to heal.
Allison Drakos was a college senior ready to graduate from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Going to school and working part-time filled her days, but Allison still found time to enjoy her last year with her sorority sisters, until the unthinkable happened.
Christmas Eve is a special day for Trey and Allison Helton. Not only is it the day they fell in love with each other, but also the day, five years ago, that they married. Their Christmas Eve routine has stayed the same for the last eleven years, but this year will be different.
Will next Christmas Eve give Trey and Allison a new reason to celebrate a life full of possibilities?

Katie lives with her soulmate, whom she met online at Thanksgiving and married in April. Together they share their lives with their three children and two leopard geckos. After suffering an especially bad spill on the bunny hill in 1989, Katie became an amputee in 2011, giving her the much needed time to pen her first novel, Sugar's Dance. With the release of Sugar's story, Katie discovered the unfilled need for disabled heroes and heroines! Her stories are about empowering people with special circumstances to find the one person who will love them because of their abilities, not their inabilities. Katie has a slight addiction to Twitter and blogging, with a lessening aversion to Pinterest now that she quit trying to make the things she pinned.
