I really enjoyed A Wyoming Christmas to Remember. It was a fast, easy read, and even though I haven't read the first 5, I had no problem reading this one as a stand-alone, which is always important to me.

Maddie is one of those rare gems who is always positive about life. But, with no memory of who she is after a car accident, she's left to figure out her life without all the baggage she had before. She's looking in the window and seeing a happy couple who have known each other for years, but she's not seeing what lurks on the outside edges. Pain, hurt, disrespect, and heartache.

Sawyer is the head cop of this small town and he's hiding a big secret. He's afraid to become a father. This is obvious to the reader from the getgo but not to him. He's too mired in the idea that he'll screw up a kid if he has one, just like his father screwed up with him. Enter his half-brother and his newborn twins. Of course, they live in a town where multiples are the norm so while not surprised by the twins part, Sawyer WAS surprised that his brother was now a father.

Maddie and Sawyer are tasked with caring for the twins while his brother figures things out and Sawyer learns some important things about himself, Maddie, and his reasons for denying her what she has always wanted.

This was a lovely, romantic holiday book that left you feeling like you just counseled this couple into a better place in life. Marriages aren't always Skittles and rainbows, and I thought Melissa did a great job of balancing the hurt and disrespect that Maddie felt with the fear and uncertainty that Sawyer felt. She also did an impeccable job of keeping it positive and working toward a solution that made everyone happy. I definitely recommend A Wyoming Christmas to Remember for your holiday TBR list.

Title: Rancher’s Wild Secret
Author: Maisey Yates
Genre: Romance
Harlequin Imprint: Desire
He's come to Gold Valley Vineyards for revenge…
Not to fall for the enemy!
The renowned spokesperson for her family’s wine empire, Emerson Maxfield is engaged to a man solely to win her father’s approval, and the sheltered beauty never, ever steps a toe out of line. Which, to rancher Holden McCall, makes her the perfect tool to exact his secret revenge. All he wants is for her family to pay for what they did to his mother, but his plan to publicly destroy the wedding of the year starts to disintegrate as his lethal seduction ensnares his heart, too…

Rancher's Wild Secret definitely kept me captivated for the whole of the story. Emerson is a 'yes, daddy, whatever you need, daddy' kind of girl. Her relationship with her father is one she thinks she needs to breathe, including agreeing to marry a man she doesn't love (or even sleep with) for the betterment of their family winery. She is willing to do anything to improve their standing for the family winery, until a new ranchhand shows up in the vineyard and she can't stop thinking about him.

Holden is there for one reason, revenge. He isn't there to bed the daughter of the man he hates for destroying his sister, but when the opportunity presents itself, he can't resist the urge to use her in his bed or in his revenge against her father.

I wasn't sure how the author was going to make this about love when it was clear Holden hated everything about the Maxfield name. What she ended up doing was not making it about Holden but rather about Emerson. It took her tearing down and subsequent rebirth in the journey of falling in love with a man she never would have found if it hadn't been for her father's indiscretions for Emerson to truly find herself.

I loved this story but fair warnings. There is nothing about Christmas in the book (As the cover leads you to think). The sex was HOT and I would only recommend it for the 18+ crowd. It's not raunchy or tasteless but it is a little more graphic than other Desire books I've read.

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Maisey Yates lives in rural Oregon with her three children and her husband, whose chiseled jaw and arresting features continue to make her swoon. She feels the epic trek she takes several times a day from her office to her coffee maker is a true example of her pioneer spirit. In 2009, at the age of twenty-three Maisey sold her first book. Since then it's been a whirlwind of sexy alpha males and happily ever afters, and she wouldn't have it any other way. Maisey divides her writing time between dark, passionate category romances set just about everywhere on earth and light sexy contemporary romances set practically in her back yard. She believes that she clearly has the best job in the world.
