Done With Love… a What’s Love??? novel, Book Two
Once upon a time…
Bridal boutique owner, Alexis Gorecki, used to believe in happily-ever-afters—until prince charming turned into a toad.
Months after being blindsided by her own horrific wedding scandal, Lexie is desperately trying to keep her boutique afloat in the wake of all the bad publicity. Waging war against her evil almost-in-laws—the people who will stop at nothing to ruin her reputation—sounded much better in her head. Lexie's strawberries and cream personality really isn’t cut out for taser guns and blackmail.
To complicate matters, Lexie's first love is back in town with his sexy green eyes and out-of-control abs. He already broke her heart once before, the beast. Leo Moss has always been her weakness and he's made it perfectly clear what he wants. Can he convince Lexie she's not done with love just yet?
After finishing the books I had a few questions for Niecey Roy...
Do you remember the
first story you ever wrote?
Yes. When I was in the third grade I wrote a story about a
robbery gone wrong in which my third grade teacher, Mrs. Jones, was
accidentally killed. By the end of the story, the mystery was solved. My
teacher loved the story and she read it in front of the class. I was thrilled.
What’s the greatest
joy of writing for you?
I am a bookworm and for as long as I can remember books have
made me happy. I used to spend all my time at the library. I was just one of
those kids who enjoyed the quiet and being by myself with a book. When we were
little, my sisters used to go outside and play all the time, but I preferred to
stay inside with a book. I used to think it would be the coolest thing in the
world to become an author and to entertain readers with my stories. Being a
writer and a published author is really a dream come true. Knowing someone has
read one of my books and enjoyed it is really amazing.
Where does your
inspiration come from? Do you have sisters like Gen and Catherine?
I guess my inspiration comes from many different things. I just
really like to laugh, and I wanted to write stories that would make other
people laugh too. I do have sisters. We didn't grow up in the same family
environment as the Gorecki girls did in Another Shot At Love and Done With
Love, as our parents are divorced. My older sister is my half-sister, and she wasn't
raised with my youngest sister and I. But despite the distance we lived
with growing up, we're still close. My older sister keeps me grounded. My
younger sister often frustrates me. And as the middle child, I probably get on
their nerves just as much as they get on mine.
Do you sneak life
experiences into your books?
Of course! That's what makes it fun. I'm sure my husband would
be shocked to see how many little experiences of ours in real life end up in my
books. He really is my muse. Sometimes he'll say something and I’ll find myself
rushing for piece of paper and a pen just to write it down, or I'm typing it
out on my phone in the middle of his conversation because he's just so funny.
Ebook or paperback?
I prefer paperback. I'm old-school.
Are you a naturally
funny person or do you have to work at the humor in your books?
I don't know if I call myself funny. I like to laugh a lot.
Honestly, I'm always laughing. I enjoy watching romantic comedies. I enjoy
watching comedy over drama, really. I have really funny friends, one in
particular. And when we get together we're always laughing... I don't know,
maybe I am funny in real life? I guess you'd have to ask my friends :) I just
feel like my humor is at its best when I'm with others, or when I'm writing.
The men, oh the men.
Who are your inspirations for your hotties?
My husband ;) I have had the biggest crush on him since I was 15
years old. I used to tell my sisters that I was going to marry him. When he
went off to the Navy and I moved away from our hometown, I actually didn't
think there was any hope of that. But when he came back we reconnected and he
still gives me butterflies. Well, when he's not irritating me and making me
want to strangle him. Ha ha! I guess that's marriage and relationships in real
life :)
What project are you
working on now?
I'm working on Book 3 in the What's Love?? series :)
Tell us one thing we
aren’t likely to know about you.
Clowns freak me out.
Thanks for having me on your blog today. I enjoyed it.
My review of the What's Love Series
Another Shot At Love ~~ Gen needs a cold shower!
Another Shot At Love was a fun romcom I completely enjoyed.
Gen and her twin sister Lexie were dating best friends, what could go wrong?
Just about everything! When Gen finds her boyfriend of two years with ‘stripper
Barbie’ her whole life falls apart. With the support of a big loving family and
a best friend with a taser she sets out in the dating world again, only to be
dumped and left with the check. Gen meets Matt in the most unusual of ways and
their whole relationship is just that, unusual. Add in the posse of secondary
characters and you are in for a laugh out loud funny adventure as Gen tests the
waters with Matt all while trying to avoid her ex. If you like romantic comedy
you will love Gen’s story from the beginning all the way to the steamy end.
Done With Love ~~~ A fairytale wedding and a runaway bride!
Lexie finds herself ready to marry the love her
life Jeremy, literally, when her soon-to-be mother-in-law gives her an ultimatum.
Lexie had spent her childhood dreaming of the fairytale wedding she would have,
but when faced with saying I do to a liar she ran. She can’t marry a man who is
willing to give her up for money. Her twin sister Gen and her best friend
Roxanna run with her and as the book unfolds you see just what a weasel Jeremy
is. Lexie is still pining for the man who told her goodbye six years before,
but he’s back and sexier than ever. This book turns steamy quick and stays that
way as Lexie reexplores her relationship with Leo. If you like a romantic
comedy with weddings, cupcakes, muscles, tasers and kidnappings then Done with
Love will keep you laughing to the final page. My only question is, when do we get Roxanna’s story?
