Can't Help Falling in Love.....

Today's book spotlight is on Jan Rome's new book, Not Without Nancy! I've been eagerly awaiting Nancy and Trigg's book, because Trigg just had that way about him in the past books that reminded me of a cowboy with a tender heart. I wasn't disappointed. Nancy is a sweet woman, but we already knew that because we meet her in Married to Maggie when she instigated her best friend's fairy tale. I've finished the series and posted my individual reviews of each book below, including my new review of Not Without Nancy. If you're looking for a fun series for the beach this summer then The Texas Boys Falling Fast series is the one for you! You can start with Married to Maggie for just .99! P.S. Aren't the covers gorgeous?

Texas cattleman,Trigg Sinclair works hard but when the day is done he powers down to an easy-going, sometimes-mischievous guy. He's had his eye on Nancy Reeger from the moment they met at Ty Vincent's wedding. She feels like his perfect match even though they couldn't be more opposite. In hot pursuit, Trigg puts himself out there only to have Nancy do everything short of hosing him down to cool things off.

With a lot resting on her shoulders, stressed-out cardiac rehab nurse-manager, Nancy Reeger doesn't have time to relax let alone dally with a well-known player. Trigg Sinclair is a handsome eyeful whose persistence intrigues yet heightens her anxiety. The guy is used to getting what he wants and won't take no for an answer.

Will a woman who takes care of hearts, break Trigg's?

I was excited to see another new release from Jan Romes in 2013. I downloaded it immediately and of course she drew me in on page one. Who wouldn't be when a hot guy is hiding out in an airport from the paparazzi only to be helped by a most unusual woman. Maggie Gray is a recently unemployed cardiac nurse who wasn't looking to get involved in the oil heir's business, until she witnessed him nearly collapse. The nurse in her kicks in, and before you can
say 'y'all' she's being sucked into Ty Vincent's plans to convince his grandfather he's got the right stuff to take over the reins. Little does Ty know, Maggie already know his grandfather, well.

The next week is a whirlwind of lies, scotch, rings, belly dancing, parties, capers, stolen kisses, missed opportunities and more twists and turns than your favorite corn maze in the middle of Ohio. Will Ty find out Maggie's plan? Will Maggie find out Loy's plan? Will Loy find out Ty and Maggie's plan? Will love win out?

Once again I found myself reading this late into the night and loving every minute of it! With a little help from the most unusual sources Maggie and Ty just might make it to the altar on time! Don't miss this fun and flirty, yet intricate and twisting, soiree with a Texas boy who's falling fast!

As always happens with Jan Romes stories, the moment I found out Keeping Kylee was out I snatched it up and dug into the story of Quinn Randal. Having met him in Married to Maggie, the first in the Texas Boys Falling Fast series, I
really hoped Tori would find a new place to hang her snobby hat! I was never happier on page two of a book in my life! Quinn hasn't changed either he's still an egotistical, self serving Daddy's boy who gets what he wants no matter what. Except what he wants this time can't be bought.

Kylee Steels is a full time bartender, part time student, and single mom kind of woman and getting involved with an egotistical daddy's boy was out of the question, even if he was as hot as Quinn Randal. Her reasons for avoiding men might be a bit melodramatic, but being abandoned does that to a person.

When Quinn makes an offer Kylee can't refuse his intentions are not honorable and he'll stop at nothing to keep Kylee.

Written in Jan Rome's usual witty, quick, upbeat with a side of serious way, Keeping Kylee is another five star read that will occupy your heart and keep you up past your bedtime, just to see if Quinn, Kylee and little Gabbi get that HEA.

Having read the first two in this series I already knew I didn't like Tori Caye. She was a spoiled brat rich girl who had no problem looking her nose down on anyone who didn't have a chauffeur or multimillion dollar bank account. I so much didn't like Tori, I wasn't sure I wanted to read the book. How on earth was
Ms. Romes going to take such an unlikable character and make her likable? Truth be told, I shouldn't have doubted her because she did it in only the way Jan Romes can. She used an age old tool that has tamed many a difficult woman, true all-accepting love. Jake Garrison is an all around nice guy, rich, handsome, down to earth and has been crushing on Tori for a lot of years. Jake finds Tori infuriating, gorgeous, maddening, and sexy. In her private moments she's tender and vulnerable and in her public moments she's demanding and take charge. Coming off a bad two year relationship with Jake's friend Quinn, Tori has a bad taste in her mouth for men. Jake is convenient, or at least that's what she wants her friends to believe.

The story progresses in a way most stories about rich people don't. Jake teaches Tori how to be giving and Tori teaches Jake how to be patient. Jake teaches Tori about how to let the person she really is on the inside come out and Tori teaches Jake that an act is sometimes just an act, and the persons true heart is just hidden for painful reasons.

I always get a few good chuckles out of the Texas Boys Falling Fast series and such was the case with Taming Tori. Whether they were at the car wash or the dollar store, Ms. Romes had me laughing and saying 'awwww' throughout the whole book. If you're looking for a fun, lighthearted, bad girl turns good girl, kind of read then Taming Tori is the one for you. Even though this is the third in the series Ms. Romes does an excellent job weaving in the back story so you won't feel lost if you read this as a stand alone, but I highly recommend getting the first two in the series too!

Not Without Nancy was, in my opinion, a true love story for one simple reason, it was real. Ms. Romes put Trigg Sinclair and Nancy Reeger through the paces of the things you experience in a real relationship. You may love each other, but
that doesn't mean everything is going to be rainbows and daises. For Trigg and Nancy their early relationship was anything but. Nancy is consumed by her job as an RN in the cardiac department. She can't blink and they find another reason why they need her there. Trigg Sinclair has more money than Heinz has pickles, but he learns quickly that does him little good when it comes to Nancy. She's not about the material things, heck, she's not even all that into Trigg, or is she?

The Texas Boys Falling Fast series has kept me consumed with the boys from Ms. Romes imagination. Jake, Ty, and Quinn all had wonderful whirlwind relationships that left them with the one they love, but Trigg is special and I was anxiously awaiting his story. The author did not disappoint. Trigg is a cowboy through and through, but his unusual tender side left him open to Nancy in ways he never expected. He connected with her on a level that took him, and her, by surprise, even if the 'pylons' in the world tried to keep them apart. Trigg had to work to convince Nancy his reputation as a playboy was all tabloid fodder, and Nancy had to take a giant leap of faith to believe him.

With the series wrapped up I will admit I want to know more about Sam, the bartender at the bar Nancy's best friend Maggie used to work at, and if he finds his one true love. I'm a sucker for the supporting character that holds everyone up because you know they have a story worthy of reading. Not Without Nancy is a touching, funny, realistic and happy look at the modern relationship in a time when cell phones, internet and television keeps us a little too connected to the things that can lead us away from our true path, and convince us that we should believe what we see on the screens. In Nancy's case she had to learn that seeing WAS believing, but first she had to figure out the right things to see. Well done Ms. Romes on a series that is sure to keep your readers coming back for more!

I give the Texas Boys Falling Fast series five holy hot cowboy cups of coffee, y'all!
