Christmas Light (Review #1 for 2016)

It's officially December, and I started my first Christmas/holiday book on the 1st! I'm here to share my review and the story with you (And it's free right now!) and I'll be sharing a holiday book every few days as I finish them. You might as well know they will be holiday romances, because that's what I love!

My first read this year was Christmas Light by Jolyse Barnett. I've included the Amazon read inside here, BUT it's free as of today (12/03) but I don't know for how long, so go grab it now!

Adirondack girl-in-transition Jade Engel comes home to recharge after ending a career she never truly wanted, but soon realizes she’s in danger of also being swept off her feet by the boy-next-door, her former best friend, Ben Stephens. If only he’d stop kissing her every time she falls into his arms.

Everything local celebrity Ben Stephens ever wanted is in Starling. Then Jade comes home after an eternity away and sends his simple world into a tailspin. He’s determined to pursue her—the one girl who got away. But when their friends-with-benefits arrangement blows up in their faces, will they have the courage to put their pasts to rest in order to forge a future together?

"Christmas Light was a fun holiday story! Though the storyline of second chance romance is predictable, I loved the added depth we got from Jade's brother Jeremy's story, and why Jade pulled away from Ben way back in 8th grade. The story moved along at a great clip and there was no unneeded information to pad the pages. I found Ben and Jade to be engaging characters with great chemistry. If you're looking for a fun, flirty, yet meaty holiday story you'll love Christmas Light!" I give Christmas Light five cups of hot happily ever after!

A country girl at heart, Jolyse Barnett is living her happily-ever-after in Long Island suburbia with her real-life hero, two incredible children, and furry cat.
When she isn't lost in a story, she enjoys a fulfilling day job, traveling, and savoring the little moments.
